What’s new?

It’s raining, the children are breaking up and you can bet your bottom dollar that there are queues at the airport. Don’t you just love the Summer!!

To cheer you up, I thought I’d blog about the new art and framing that we’ve got in the gallery. Rolf Harris has produced some wonderful artwork as always and what I especially like about him is that each piece stands alone. I’m always waiting with baited breath to see what’s coming. We’ve got ‘Swan in the morning’ and ‘Fishing Felucca’ in the gallery now, both on canvas and both stunning.

So we are ready for the faming of all your holiday purchases and photos, we have new ranges of frames to make the most of your memories. Midsummer Open Evening

It’s that time again, when the Art Gallery opens up it’s doors and shows off it’s brand new artwork and jewellery in a Summer Open Evening.

We are becoming well known for our informal evenings. I tend to avoid the term ‘exhibition’ as that sounds so very formal and our that is not what we are about! As always we are very honoured to have the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Mary O’Connor MBE in attendance supporting the local Chamber of Commerce and the businesses involved.

There will be plenty of Pimms flowing as well as nibbles to stave off the pangs of hunger from the commute home. To aid your relaxation we have walls full of fantastic new artwork by existing artists in our portfolio as well as a few new comers. The standard is amazing as always and we are forging ahead with our endeavours to provide affordable originals to suit the budget of any one interested in art.

The new Summer jewellery collections are in the gallery too, with great value and individual pieces by our favourite Carrie Elspeth as well as the silver collection from Elements.

To whet your appetite there will be offers and promotions on the night as always so it’s a great time to come along, relax and choose whilst keeping a little extra money in your pocket.

I can hear you asking, ‘when and where?’ well the date for your diary is FRIDAY 17TH JUNE 2011 at 7.00pm until 10.00pm at The Art Gallery, 103 Victoria Road Ruislip Manor. Come along and bring your friends and family too and help us notch up another great evening.

Our great British heritage.

I always love Easter as the weather starts to get better, people are happier and you just know that Summer is on the way! This year we had the added bonus of a Royal Wedding to lengthen the bank holiday.

The fever of the wedding made me realise what a beautiful country we live in and how many wonderful artists have managed to capture this in art. KEN HAMMOND is one of the country’s most versatile artists and we have two fabulous London scenes in the gallery by him at the moment. They are a contemporary take on familiar views but his use of strong colour against soft muted tones and hints of a skyline make the images very sophisticated and engaging. This led me onto the good old British landscape and Terry Evans and Ben Jeffery both capture this perfectly. Their artwork is a joy to have in the gallery, selling through exceptionally quickly. We’re back blogging!

After a long absence we are back blogging about the happenings at The Art Gallery on Ruislip Manor. There is a lot to tell but we’ll keep it short and sweet to start.

We have lots of fabulous new artwork just arrived in the gallery from our portfolio of national artists. They are affordable originals and the range of styles are diverse and there should be something to suit everyone. There are seascapes from Nick MacKay, contemporary figurative from Charlotte Atkinson and the completely individual and utterly fabulous Chris Chapman. Interest in Chris’s work has escalated after being highlighted on television by Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen recently.
